The SOS Arctic Windsled Expedition 2024, the preparations for our next expedition have not been easy, but we are ready. We are heading to the base camp from where we will begin the south-to-northwest crossing of Greenland’s interior with the WindSled.

This is a new challenge for the Inuit WindSled Project, where we will test the most advanced wind-powered sled to date.

In a few days, we will kick off the SOS Arctic Windsled Expedition 2024, a 1,500-kilometer journey across Greenland’s polar ice cap using exclusively wind and solar energy.

Over the course of six weeks, we will collect data and samples from areas never before reached or explored.

The eight members of the team will carry out five research projects during the expedition, in collaboration with international and national experts, to study climate change in the Arctic.

The WindSled convoy, the world’s only “zero” emissions mobile scientific platform, will measure 20 meters long (divided into four modules) and 3 meters wide. It will be propelled by kites of various sizes, transporting 3,000 kilograms of weight from Qaleralik on Greenland’s southern coast to Upernavik in the northwest.
