TransGreenland Electric Challenge 2027

A New Era of Polar Exploration Begins

In April 2027, the next expedition of the TransGreenland Electric Challenge will take place in Greenland.

The objective of this stage is to carry out a long-distance traverse of approximately 500 km, reaching halfway to Nuuk (around Paamiut) and returning, while continuing the development and testing of off-grid, self-sustaining electric exploration systems in polar environments.

The TransGreenland Electric Challenge began in 2025 with the first field test of electric mobility on the Greenland Ice Cap. The 2026 activities further focused on testing the performance of the electric snowmobile, its load capacity, and its ability to generate and manage energy under real expedition conditions.

Building on these experiences, the 2027 expedition will continue evaluating the system’s efficiency, autonomy, and operational limits in long-distance Arctic travel.
