The Scientific Potencial
THE SCIENTIFIC POTENTIAL OF THE WINDSLED
The Inuit Windsled is designed in order to be a zero emissions scientific platform that can achieve major traverses through the most remote regions of The Antarctic ice cap and of the Greenland ice cap.
It is capable of traveling thousands of kilometers without external resupply.
The Inuit Windsled is a vehicle:
- With a full payload of 3000 kg.
- It can accommodate up to 8 people on board.
- It has a variable scientific payload ranging from 250 kg to 1000 kg.
- It possesses an electric generation capacity of potentially 5 KW/H.
The design is compact, allowing for easy transport in small planes and storage in small spaces.
The Windsled is a full new concept of developing scientific exploration in the cleanest and most sustainable way that is humanly possible.
Its full potential has not yet been fully explored. The Spanish Polar Programme is adopting the Windsled for research, with the first Trans-Antarctic Expedition crossing East Antarctica expected in 2025. In Greenland its potential is starting to be implemented through the “North Greenland Windsled Expeditions”.
